Pros

You choose your own shedule. It is very flexible. Supportive mentor. Friendly students. Weekly check ins with mentor.

Cons

I worked with Oxinity for a few months as an online English tutor. The platform requires tutors to manage both teaching and administrative outreach tasks. A key requirement of the role is sending a high volume (atleast 6 a day) of emails to potential clients every day. Teaching assignments are allocated based on the number of emails sent, rather than being guaranteed. Finding clients feels extremely difficult, and even after sending numerous emails, potential clients are often not interested. Because of this system, it can be difficult to secure consistent classes, even with significant effort. The onboarding training is quite intensive. It requires some time to get use to their system which for me was quite stressfull and required some effort and time. Classes are 30 minutes long and scheduled back-to-back, which can make them difficult to manage at times, especially when trying to maintain quality and pacing between lessons. The role is quite demanding and includes a lot of administrative and outreach work in addition to teaching. Weekly meetings are also required, where tutors are expected to contribute ideas and participate in discussions. In my experience, it was challenging to generate a stable income, as class allocation depends heavily on performance and successful client sign-ups. On one occasion, I finished a lesson early and received a warning that if it happened again, my classes could be removed, which added additional pressure during teaching sessions. It also seems that the company has a high staff turnover rate, which may reflect the demanding nature of the platform and its performance-based structure. Overall, I would suggest this job as a side hustle rather than a main source of income. While it can provide experience in online teaching and communication, it is not always a stable or predictable platform for full-time earnings.
