Pros
There are some amazing shelter workers, vets, wildlife and volunteer staff. It was a joy to connect with likeminded folks about animal welfare and rehabilitation. There are people at PAWS trying to make a real difference and that is inspiring.
Cons
CEO and upper management is seriously lacking in management experience and accountability. CEO and upper management make trivial decisions at the detriment of staff (lay offs, unrealistic expectations, etc). PAWS is not a safe space; discussing process issues results in passive aggressive meetings and an overwhelming false positivity as opposed to discussing and fixing issues. We were promised an anonymous survey that never happened. Working for PAWS was a continuous uphill battle.
