Pros

It was fun working at PCD Group while I worked there for over 5 years. The people are really nice and super smart. You get to work on projects for Fortune 100 companies with very high visibility and usage. The work you do is world class, and you must be world class too. The hours are very good for software engineering where you rarely work over 40 hours, which the management maintains & encourages. The pay is very competition, especially for a small company, that rewards you for great performance. The benefits are good (medical is fair for a small company), there's 401K with company match & profit sharing, good amount of PTO & sick days, etc. You're always learning something and doing fun projects (most of the times).

Cons

There are some restrictions to technology due to specifications from large clients (banks, infrastructure) and super high security requirements. Deadlines are DEADLINES, so you have to be on the ball to keep a schedule. The CEO and management have very high expectations to produce the very best product, so you have to learn to take things in stride and go with the flow with the addition of, sometimes/often, changing requirements from the clients.

Pros

I've worked at PCD for more than 12 years now and I can say with total honestly, I never tire of how in awe I am of just how friggin smart my colleagues are, and honored be part of the team; Oh, If only they were charged with running a country, I'd be the first to apply for citizenship! I've worked for quite a few outfits at this point and can safely say this is one of my favorites. If you want to be big fish in a small pond, then this type of environment is your jam. I used to work for a large multi-national company and all I witnessed there were people brown-nosing their bosses to get one-up on their colleagues; PCD is the complete opposite. I think this comes from the strength-of-character each person that works here, possesses. There is an integrity that allows one to be their own person and one’s quirkiness is seen as a plus and celebrated. Yes, there are expectations. We do have timelines, but we've learnt from the past that it doesn't help to try burn the candle at both ends to accomplish them. There seems to be a lot more of an understanding between all parties involved (clients, project managers, designers and developers) on reasonable timelines than I experienced when I first worked for PCD. PCD will offer you a challenging and satisfying environment.

Cons

Not much but if my hand is forced to provide a con, health coverage doesn't cover a family, just the individual.

Pros

PCD Group is team of dedicated and really talented individuals who thrive on hard work and challenging projects. The culture is very collaborative and good ideas are recognized. In my experience, achievement is respected and rewarded. People who do not share these values or have unrealistic ideas may be disappointed. The benefits are good and the salaries are competitive. The projects are interesting and for the right people there is plenty of room for growth and advancement. The CEO is very engaged and cares about the people who work for her, the clients and the work we deliver. She has an open door policy and hears people out. I have seen her work tirelessly in helping others advance their skills. The majority of time people work 40 hour work weeks. Some people in more senior positions work more but OT is the exception not the norm for most. The reality is good people work at PCD for a long time because it is a good company. People are friendly and kind and we help each other out in mutual success. There are low or no politics and everyone matters. The team goes out together on occasion and there is good camaraderie for those who desire it.

Cons

Like most smaller sized companies, you always need to give 100% and be on your A game. If you are someone who needs to slack off here and there, it might not be the best environment for you.
