Dysfunctional culture with poor management support - Anonymous PCL Lawyers Employee Review

Compensation is above market. Office snacks are decent.

Leadership is disconnected from the actual needs of the firm. The managing partner seems far more focused on personal interests and extended trips abroad than on effectively running the organisation. There is zero transparency around financials, firm direction, workload distribution, or decision-making. Communication is poor across all levels. Information is tightly controlled, and employees are often asked to stay silent about their own departures until leadership decides to announce them, usually long after the rumour mill has already taken over. No flexibility and little trust. Policies feel rigid and outdated. Team leads lack leadership skills and rarely provide meaningful support. HR is ineffective and does not address issues such as bullying or dysfunction within teams. High turnover was constant during my time there and speaks for itself. The culture is dominated by top-down control, secrecy, and a lack of genuine camaraderie.

Its a very long, long list unfortunately ranging from management that just fires staff and told to pack up, unprofessional and rude comments from management and a toxic culture based on my experience.
