Pros

Beautiful coastal city – Close to beaches and scenic spots, offering a relaxed lifestyle. Lower cost of living – Housing and daily expenses are generally cheaper than in Seoul or Busan. Proximity to major industries – Home to POSCO and other industrial hubs, providing stable job opportunities. Less traffic and congestion – Easier commuting and less crowded urban environment. Community feel – Smaller city size can lead to closer relationships with colleagues and locals.

Cons

Limited entertainment and cultural options – Fewer restaurants, shopping malls, and cultural events compared to big cities. Fewer career opportunities – Less diversity in job options, especially for non-industrial sectors. Transportation limitations – Fewer flight/train options for traveling to other major cities. Possible feeling of isolation – Smaller expat or international community, if that’s important to you. Weather considerations – Coastal city can be windy and humid, especially in summer.

Pros

- It is a very beautiful campus. - They are really advanced and almost all of the facilities are new. - It is very safe to live in Pohang.

Cons

- Almost everything is in Korean (at campus and in the city). - Usually professors are not really fluent in English. - Korean professors in general are NOT nice and friendly towards their students. - International students do not get enough attention. They are just there to improve the ranking of the university, NOT to learn anything. - For every single thing you will need to ask a Korean to help you because of the language problem.
