Pros

Good reputation, but in reality, there is no substance to the reputation. University just cares about keeping the reputation but not about making this a good university. Students and faculty don't seem to care much about making a difference in this world.

Cons

Advertised as "first bilingual campus in Korea" on the website, but in reality, it's not an international campus at all. All the signs are only in Korean, most of the paperwork is only in Korean, 90% of emails are written only in Korean, most of the administration don't speak English, many faculty and staff only speak in Korean. If you are a foreigner, you will need to learn Korean to get by. Not to mention, Koreans here tend to be very racist towards foreigners. They will stare at you, yell at you, swear at you. In general, people tend to be very rude. When you raise a concern towards the administration, they either just ignore you or write back in Korean so you can't understand, or simply tell you off that they're not responsible for the problem. In short, the culture, society, and system is very narrow-minded and unwilling to change. I don't know why POSTECH tries to reach out to foreigners when the school is not ready to accept, acknowledge, and welcome the international community.

Pros

- It is a very beautiful campus. - They are really advanced and almost all of the facilities are new. - It is very safe to live in Pohang.

Cons

- Almost everything is in Korean (at campus and in the city). - Usually professors are not really fluent in English. - Korean professors in general are NOT nice and friendly towards their students. - International students do not get enough attention. They are just there to improve the ranking of the university, NOT to learn anything. - For every single thing you will need to ask a Korean to help you because of the language problem.
