Pros
The team environment is not as cut-throat as I imagined, although the pace can get very intense and demanding. I actually received a lot of guidance and personal attention from my manager regarding professional growth. I was able to use my experience as a stepping stone for my next position in research for a major hedge fund in New York.
Cons
This is not a large company and while the size was one of the things that attracted me from the outset, it does come with challenges. Managers expect a lot and you are always in the spotlight for your performance. I didn't like it all the time, but it did end up helping me immensely in the long run. I am much more detail-oriented now, much more efficient with my time throughout the work day and I HAD to become very organized. If I hadn't adapted quickly by doing all of this, I would not have lasted long at the company. My manager was on me constantly in the beginning, but once I established myself as consistent and dependable, she gave me more autonomy.
