Pros

Flexibility in work schedule and placements for a good work/life balance. Autonomy

Cons

Poor communication, lack of leadership, no opportunities for communication/team building with other SLPs (why not a Teams or chat channel to share experiences, resources, opportunities, mentor)? PTO offered is insulting (number of hours worked per week is number of hours of PTO you get for the year) and with snow days, breaks, etc, makes earning a living difficult. Benefits are limited. Company encourages staff to apply for unemployment during summer and holiday breaks.

Pros

Schedule coordinated with my children's, sadly thats considered a pro and not a requirement for employers in our society I adored the school staff, PSI staff was like my toxic family I moved away from but they wont let me grow up and move on

Cons

Zero growth opportunities or guidance provided by superiors, only time contacted was to mandate repetitive data log requirements and unrealistic and unnecessary expectations. Did not prioritize needs of school or students, prioritize making it easier for superiors to micro manage from the comfort of their lazy boy, only in person to check that the redundant and unnecessary paperwork is completed. Zero support for actual job, only care if a problem. Zero support for staff in the school, unless you're upper management forget being informed about anything, even if it directly affects you daily Unfair contracts, PSI offers less than 35% of the contracted rate they receive from the schools and are very secretive about the contracts they have with the schools to avoid exposing the greed and exploitative methods they practice. My position was contracted for $35.71/hour between psi and the school, however the company offered me a contracted rate of $11, i was "maxed out" at $16 after 5 years and told "i was lucky to get the raises i did get, psi usually offers a max of 50 cents a year increase and the problem is the schools dont pay much but we wish we could give you more but its impossible". After finding their contracts online with my school, I was disgusted and offended by the greed and blatant lies the company is comfortable with their own employees, and the gaslighting they did was unacceptable, it should be a crime to be able to mislead and guilt trip their employees, while preying on their own staff and basically stealing from them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience with PSI did not meet your expectations. We take concerns about communication, support, and compensation very seriously and are continuously working to improve transparency, employee growth opportunities, and overall workplace experience. While we understand that every experience is unique, we remain committed to supporting both our staff and the schools we partner with, and we encourage team members to share feedback with their supervisors or HR so we can address concerns directly.
