Pros
Very helpful colleagues. There is a sense, so far, that everyone feels they are in the same boat. Also, support with documents...style guides for APA, AMA, MLA, etc. They will start you off with a rigorous training period. Souls may feel crushed, but it's a learning experience. There is a generous PTO system. I was surprised by how much I had accrued when I took a vacation. This is one good thing that slightly offsets the low pay mentioned below.
Cons
Base pay is extremely low--$20,000 or so per year. There is a "profit share" or commission system, which the owner says should offset that low pay, but very few who start here manage to get more than a few hundred dollars of that in a paycheck. It can feel exploitative at times.
