Pros

The team I worked on was incredible, and I always looked forward to our meetings. Leadership for creative team is wonderful, energetic and caring. There was a feeling of support and genuine friendship I hadn't experienced at other companies before. Despite being remote-first, there were always efforts to bring the teams together in person. Pay was very competitive. Also diverse team.

Cons

Biggest struggle was balancing so many brands, it can be hard to feel like you're doing an A+ job when you're juggling, but never felt criticized and teams were always willing to help. I imagine the flow of work and team morale would be 10x if this were a company that worked in person.

Pros

Pattern is truly a unique and special place to work. It is no easy feat to acquire multiple companies and merge them into your ecosystem, and the founder's strong background in brand from their agency days means they know a good company with potential when they see one. Post-acquisition, you get to carry the torch and help to continue to build and propel these cool DTC brands into their next phase of growth. It is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and no two days are alike. That is what I loved about my role there. Working there is enriching if you are up for the challenge. Like most high-growth startups, they have had to make their fair share of changes to set the company up for success. With change comes opportunity, and the team they are building today will successfully seize the opportunities ahead. I thoroughly enjoyed contributing to their story and connected with some wonderful people who will be a part of my network forever.

Cons

The remote first culture is excellent from a flexibility standpoint but is challenging in keeping everyone aligned and marching towards the same priorities. They have put a great structure in place recently and are making strides to ensure better visibility across the company. Managing all of the different consumer brands is challenging from a prioritization and focus standpoint, but it also is what makes this company a unique and engaging place to work.
