Pros
Some of the nicest people you'll meet outside of management, employees work together despite obstacles, and employees look out for each other
Cons
After working in management for a year, these are my observations:
-Management and the owner/CEO are often not on the same page. The CEO often tries quick fixes to problems without addressing the underlying issues.
-Morale is very low. Most employees are paid below market, and there is a big motivation problem that is being ignored.
-The owners and management are quick to point fingers and blame individual employees for systemic issues across the board.
-There is little investment in employee training and retention. Motivation is done by threats to cut pay or remove incentives.
-Managers are given responsibility but no authority to accomplish their projects.
-There is not enough transparency between ownership, management, and the employees. Miscommunications trickle down from the very top.
