Pros
Pickr has got a diverse team, with a range of different personalities and cultures. The environment is friendly, productive and focussed on delivering results. The team work well collaboratively together, and as we're still a fairly small team there's isn't an attitude of "them vs us" between different departments. There's not a blame culture, so it's ok to make mistakes - as long as they're learned from. The attitude is to fail fast, so that we can find what does work quickly. This is refreshing. The office is in a good location just a few minutes from the Norwich city centre. There's a great buzz when you walk in - the heavily subsidised office food and drink always helps. Everyone is empowered to take ownership of their own work - with opportunity for self-development. It's wonderful to be part of something from the early stages - and there is the feeling that we're on the cusp of something that is going to be mega-successful.
Cons
Being an early-stage company there are issues related to us not yet having a rock-solid product-market fit. We're finding the way, but we're still very much learning our industry. This can be frustrating at times as despite best efforts, our plans don't always come into fruition. We've had some mis-steps in hiring the wrong roles, when in hindsight some positions weren't what we really needed to drive the business forwards.
