Pros

I guess you could consider the "free lunch Fridays" a pro?

Cons

Before you read on, just note that there is an overwhelmingly high amount of fake positive reviews in an attempt to cover up the true toxicity of this company. The HR staff seems to be asking current employees and interns to write these "great" reviews. In less than a month, Pico went from a 2.8 to a 3.1 rating? Suspicious. Read the positive reviews with a grain of salt! The number 1 problem with this firm is the incompetent management which is plagued with lies, deceit, and empty promises. Pico doesn't seem to care for their employees - issues that are brought up get tossed around in endless circles or just simply get "forgotten". The same few managers and executives seem to be calling all the shots with a lack of proper checks and balances. The brown nosing and "friends of the family" is absurd. Certain individuals get treated very well. The turnover rate is very high. There's also a hiring freeze that seems to be going on forever. Also, it doesn't help that the staffing agencies Pico entrusts is just as shady. Shame on them as well. You're promised travel and learning opportunities. You're promised bonuses. You're promised anonymity. You're promised you'll be held with high regard and that Pico is a team. This is far from the truth. Never in my career, have I came across a company with the most rude, obnoxious, clueless, and cringy managers ever. A lot of the managers seems to have that chip on their shoulder, will never side with you, and are out to protect their own backs. They will throw you under the bus. Some of them are clearly not even fit to manage. During my time at Pico, never once have I had a senior manager reach out to me and ask me how I was doing or how my day was going but when they needed something, it's business time. They will take credit for your work. You will get the short end of the stick. The managers that sat at my location were holed up in their office the entire time, only coming out to grab the occasional cup of coffee or food. One manager in particular is a power hungry, controlling individual with a very nasty attitude and is really making the company an even more unpleasant place to work and nothing is being done about it! The HR team is a running joke. The end of year assessments that determine your "bonus" lacks structure, depth, and explanations. I had asked my manager multiple times to explain my bonus structure and was given blank stares and the usual "I'll check with HR." The lack of structure allows Pico to score you conveniently below a made-up threshold so you don't get your well-deserved bonus. The benefits are managed by a third-party company which absolutely stink. There is NO work from home flexibility - any WFH requests are questioned and scrutinized. HR "offers" a yearly training stipend for personal growth and development but only if they deem it helpful to Pico. So, what's the point of calling it "personal development"? The sales team, executives, project managers, and managers are the only people travelling. Lower level employees don't even get an opportunity to grow. Sales and PM are treated the best and with utmost priority - everyone else is under appreciated and over worked. At every global team meeting, all you hear about is what sales is doing and accomplishing and you never hear the hard work that the engineers and analysts do to keep the company running efficiently. This company is full of excuses and incompetency. It's a travesty what this company puts its employees through. Such potential is being wasted with bad management. Get with it, Pico.
