Pros

- The team was young and motivated (before the second bankruptcy where 90% of people were laid off) - It had a startup vibe even if there were no startup pros

Cons

- Upper management utterly incompetent (no space or engineering experience) - Unfortunately a wasted effort, as all the work of years was scrapped and now the company is a shell, working on toy projects and IT. - Delayed payments (one of the founders allegedly still has legal troubles for not paying the employees during the PREVIOUS bankruptcy)

PTS is working on several cube satellites for launch in 2024 and 2025. We have learned to take smaller steps at a time and have signed launch and customer contracts for our first couple of in orbit demonstrations. PTS has also gained several customers for its Lunar test facility in Rostock and is doing full-time research in lunar soil behaviour for rovers and mechanical equipment. Like it or not, R&D costs money and we do earn it by executing IT and software contracts for the industry. Loosing a big customer in 2022 indeed was a horrible loss but at the same time a very good lesson. 'Upper management' (funny term) is open to learn and loves criticism, even though probably more in person than on a platform...

Pros

* PTS is a space company in Berlin; if you want to live in a great city and work in space, this is one option. * It's a small start-up company, so if you enjoy the start-up (but underfunded) lifestyle, this might work for your. * The people are generally nice.

Cons

* Just...everything. To begin with, a bit of history: * PTS used to have an amazing team of engineers who were hired to build a lunar lander. There was a ton of raw talent there and, if the money had flowed, a real shot at a moon mission. Then, due to incompetant management and no financial planning, the company went bankrupt. The company didn't pay salaries for 3 months and was eventually bought out of insolvency by a logistics company run by a guy who knew nothing and cared nothing for space. This led to a mass exodus from the company by the technical team. Eventually the management regained control of the company, only to flirt with bankrupsy a second time and eventually pivot away from the moon lander into small-scale space electronics and project-based work. * From the peak of about 70 employees, there are maybe 5-8 people left. * The management is terrible; all the good management and most of the good engineers have left, leaving in charge a CEO who doesn't care about his employees and the original owner with a tendancy for hyperbole/lying. * The company is chronically late in paying salaries. All former employees have at least 1 month that was never paid for. Generally expect your salaries to be 1-2 months late. * There are no start-up perks here. The company can't even afford bottled water for their employees. * The logistics company (Zeitfracht) and its owner are still involved with PTS in a weird sort of love/hate abusive relationship. * The company is located in a Zeichfracht warehouse in the middle of nowhere at the edge of Berlin. Expect a long commute, working next to truckers, and no office windows. * The company (re: management) have no vision for what they want PTS to become. They are so desperate for paid contracts they will do any work, including farming their employees out at contractors to other companies.

To comment briefly on the points above: * FROM THE PEAK OF ABOUT 70 EMPLOYEES, THERE ARE MAYBE 5-8 PEOPLE LEFT. Comment1: PTS has 20 full time employees and 8 part time employees in April 2022 * From the peak of about 70 employees, there are maybe 5-8 people left. Comment2: The company has 20 full time and 9 part time employees in April 2022 * The company is chronically late in paying salaries. All former employees have at least 1 month that was never paid for. Generally expect your salaries to be 1-2 months late. Comment3: The company faced financial difficulties in the year 2020 (and in the preceding insolvency) and was late in paying salaries. Since then PTS recruits new employees and pays salaries on time. * There are no start-up perks here. The company can't even afford bottled water for their employees. Comment4: PTS offers attractive salaries, flexible work time, coffee/drinks and a new modern office location soon * The company (re: management) have no vision for what they want PTS to become. They are so desperate for paid contracts they will do any work, including farming their employees out at contractors to other companies. Comment5: Come in and find out
