A huge number of people in this company are there ilegally. Which means: they work there full-time, indistinguishable from workers with contracts, but on paper they're freelancers. In Portuguese they are "Falsos Recibos Verdes." You are expected to work within a fixed schedule (9.30-6.30), to have a lunch hour, all the things a contract worker must do - but without the benefits. There's no Christmas and vacation subsidies and you, as a freelancer, have to pay taxes to the Government. Even though you're not really a freelancer, because you can't have any more clients - you're working full time at Plot/How Media (a subsidiary). The wages are quite low - they don't even try to make up a little to people by paying reasonable salaries. And yet, the projects are paid very well to the company - they have big clients (multinationals, etc.) It's completely astonishing and unacceptable. Exploitation is the word. Everyone knows. EVERYONE. Accounting, managers, the company owners. And no one does a thing. I do not recommend working here.
