Pros

Most of the people who work there are nice and easy to get a long with. I worked in the service department as a cashier and at times the service advisors would be rude and demeaning, but over all I liked the people I worked with. Lots of ability to get promoted if you work hard and do your job!

Cons

Can't speak much for sales, but in the service department, working as a woman, there can be lots of sexual harassment. Most of it is harmless and more annoying then anything but can be a little too much at times and uncomfortable. Also coworkers can be very disrespectful to each other and on several occasions there were screaming at each other which does not make for the best work environment.

Pros

I’ve made the most money out of any job I’ve ever had here. Started in sales and now in finance. The people are the best. Between sales and management everyone feels so close. If you are here to work and want to do well- there are lots of resources and opportunities for you to do well. Promotions are earned but you have a clear goal of what is the next step. Medical insurance and other 401k benefits are excellent.

Cons

The hours are insane. 6 day work weeks. You will work Saturday and Sunday. Sales might have more flexibility in the days off but not by much. You’ll be working holidays, you’ll be working late hours also- it’s not for the weak. Generally, worst part of the business is you are always here. As much as I love the team and feel I’ve grown so much from my time here I never see my family. But that’s what the pay is for.

Pros

It’s only good if your just starting out and your desperate, you can get quick experience, and move on to something way better

Cons

Everything about this place screams toxic, we used to call it the Pohanka Plantation, why? Slave wages, slave labor, open all day and night, And the pay is on average 10 - 15 dollars an hour less than what any other dealerships or repair shops will pay. They’ll throw the typical it’s not the pay it’s the hours you turn and we have the work, no one else does. Go ahead and look at any other dealership, you will see everyone is short handed, and has plenty of work, except they will pay you fairly for it. If your an inspector, or a skilled technician you will be used and abused, they’ll give the safety inspections to the hourly kids they get all the work off it, and you’re expected to write a sticker for it, for the 0.3 inspectors pay, They had a really good trans tech they ran out of there, and have no replacement, cause they won’t pay for one. The few good techs they have left they are underpaying and running out the door, They insist they are right you are always wrong, Labor rates always go up, but techs won’t get raises. They’ll tell you if you just turn more hours, come in early and stay late, you expected to work every holiday and weekends, and make Pohanka your life, kiss your wife and kids goodbye, cause this is now your home don’t try to get a home or apartment in Fairfax, they won’t pay you enough for you to afford it, Don’t try and buy a new car from them, they don’t pay enough for you to afford it Now you see why I call it slave labor and wages, and upper management proudly boasts how they are the lowest paying in the area, They will cut you down so you feel like you are stuck, they did to me and when I left for a competitor, my hourly rate skyrocketed, my flag hours increased, and my job satisfaction and home time got better, I’m Better without them and you will be too
