Pros
- Everyone on my team is so supportive of not only me but of each other, prioritizing communication, honesty, and care. - The job itself is so fun! It gives me the chance to be silly and have fun while knowing I'm making a difference for my clients and their families. - It has opened me up to the world of autism and different types of therapies; this job truly teaches you something new with every client during every session. - The pay is great!! I receive compensations for floating holidays and drive time, even as a part-time employee.
Cons
- Definitely takes a while to adjust to the flow of things, especially writing the post-session notes. It, of course, gets easier, but it does take a lot of time and patience. - Finding clients, at least in my area, has been tricky, so finding a new client or multiple clients within a nearby range is not always possible. - Coming from someone who is also a full-time student, it can be easy to lose track of the duties outside of sessions (meetings, phone calls, etc.). I tend to have to set multiple reminders for those sorts of things.
