There are no cons to working here

The editors here are great mentors and truly care about producing quality journalism. They will challenge you to improve as a writer and give you the flexibility to pitch your own stories. The hours are very standard (9-5) and there's not a lot of overtime or weekend/night work. The company culture is generally very positive and supportive.

The pay is low but doable for the area where the cost of living is also low. The paper also is not immune to issues facing other print media (declining advertising revenue, etc).
