Pros
There are many departments to work in. They are all fairly the same and it is not all that difficult to make lateral moves within the company. Most of the positions are hired from within so there are chances at advancement.
Cons
You are never going to get any of those promotions or advancement's unless you are a yes man. If you have any new idea's, prove some flaw in managements great new plan, or in any way show that you are not a 100% lackey you will never get anything. The management at Practiceworks likes to bury their heads in the sand and think that they know everything, and would never stoop to soliciting advice from their actual employees. Even if they have never done the job a day in their life management will believe till they die that they are correct and there is no other way to handle a problem. They also go out of their way to harass their customers. They get away with this by being a monopoly of their specialized software. If anyone else shows up on the scene they just buy their company and then bury their software. You will have no free will here. In order for middle management to justify their existence they will micro manage you to the point of re-listening to every single person their tech support talks to, 3 separate times! They have great technology and tools that they could use to help their customers, but you have to get permission every time you want to give a customer an answer other than no. They seem to actually prefer to agitate customers to seeking legal action before they do incredibly simple remedies to their problems.
