Pros

Practifi is a scale up on a fast growth trajectory. The people who work here are all committed to the common cause which is to build a world class product to delight our customers and take this company to as far as we can. In my relatively short tenure here so far, I have learned a lot of new skills and grown personally, especially in the area of leadership, people management and effective communications. I have already had a role change (with a promotion) within my first year at Practifi. This is unprecedented in my career. I feel particularly privileged to be under the tutelage of the CEO and Co-Founder Glenn. I have learnt more from working for Glenn in one year than from some of the years I spent in my previous role. I am very proud of the Engineering team we assembled at Practifi who I led into battles every day. Practifi is truly a rocket ship and going to great places.

Cons

Every scale up or start up must go through a lot of growing pain and teething pain. Practifi is no exception to that. Trying to pitch my ideas for changes takes time. Convincing people to think big and of the long term strategy takes some power of persuasion. Trying to get all the teams and every colleague to work at the same pace can be challenging. However, with time and the ongoing effort at Practifi to change and improve, the aforementioned obstacles and areas of weakness can be turned round.

Pros

Strongish culture, decent group of relatively talented people

Cons

Target client base is tricky to sell to. They want the moon, the sun, and the stars. Need to be overpromised to to close a deal. Then they get mad when the implimentation requires more customization and the contract gets cancelled.
