Pros

Going back to work for Preferred Choice after 5 years in London, was the best decision i made in my 20 years of working in Recruitment. All the bad comments about PCL, in my opinion is just good old fashion bitterness. I have loved working here both times and like any company, has gone through changes, but always want to push on and be the best. The Directors will always be honest and helpful, the big thing i have noticed is the commitment to training consultants who have no sales experience, who are now billing

Cons

The walk from the station, still has not changed...

Pros

Good agency to get recruitment experience

Cons

PC are still working like an agency from the 90s and times are changing more than ever, if they don't apart they risk getting left in the dust. The company constantly are looking for KPIs to be hit but recruitment is more than this and this is what forces them a bad reputation. We tried to have many interventions but PC always went back to its same way of working and a very unpredictable management team can make things very stressful.

Pros

Some good comradery between more junior employees, good location if you live in the South East and don't want the London commute, large office with car park, interesting industry to recruit for.

Cons

Very limited progression which is based on favour with Seniors as opposed to ability to recruit, poor management team that don't consider the wider companies when making decision, overly confusing commission structure that regularly leaves consultants out of pocket, a fining system by the Directors for when you make (what they consider to be) mistakes costing you 20p a pop and often resulting in over £20 a month.
