Pros

Work until mid afternoon, leaving time to do other things in the day. Team members and line management are good people. Head housekeeper is trying his best, but upper management is poor. Veteran members after staff are very kind, and you can make some good friendships. Occasional free breakfast.

Cons

You can end up working 7 days in a row with no break. You'll be told you finish at 2:30pm in the interview, but its often closer to 3pm or 4pm. Gossipy. Low salary (unless youre 16 - 18, in which case its very good, meeting minimum wage for 21+ yr olds). Upper management will fudge organisation (e.g. holiday booking) and then blame you for it. PPE is not especially encouraged. Often not accessible. You're often left without the tools to do your job, disorganised storage and linen rooms. Clear favourites on the team. You'll end up physically exhausted all the time. You're encourage to finish as fast as possible, because upper management don't want to pay labour. At the cost of mental health and cleanliness (though they want you to take 20 mins and under per room, while also leaving it spotless). Constantly understaffed. Though this isnt always hotel management's fault, it comes down to upper management at whitbread enforcing hiring freezes.
