Pros

Primitive Social was open to my ideas and talents from day one. That meant so much to me. There are countless ways I grew at Primitive Social. My coworkers coached me to form stronger skills with videography and writing: two of my true passions. The training was constant, and I appreciated that. Primitive Social’s culture was relieving to me. I came into the office from a previous workplace culture that was high-energy and many times toxic. Coming into Primitive Social's open seating area with energetic teammates was a relief for me. I felt creative and like the sky was the limit instead of smothered by a corporate shadow. The flexibility Primitive Social allows their employees allowed me to deepen relationships with my family and be with them in times we needed each other the most. We lost and gained family members during the year-and-a-half I spent on their team. I will forever be grateful for them allowing me to be present for those life-changing moments. Primitive Social helped me transition into a remote position when I moved and worked diligently to help me fill a role that catered to my passions. I am proud of the time I spent experiencing the consistent growth and change at Primitive Social. They will always receive the highest recommendations from me. I will continue to follow the great work they do and cheer them on as they continue to make great strides.

Cons

The only reason I chose to leave Primitive Social was to pursue opportunities outside of marketing.

Pros

Remote work and friendly culture

Cons

They move people around like a jigsaw puzzle but no one is really all that qualified to do anything. Unfortunately the culture is a Lubbock (smaller town) clique and a little bit of a joke. They think they're primed for the "big leagues" but can't see the forest for the trees. It's hard to take many people seriously here once you see past the "happy culture" facade - if you're serious about growing in your profession, you're better off finding somewhere else to work if you can.
