      I love working with the patients

      The Cancer Institute limits CMA's on their license, my license allows me to do a lot more than CTC allows me to do, and it can be very frustrating. Also, the supervisors are all Nurses and there is no one that actually looks out for medical assistant's interests.

      Pros

      Shadowing experience in a hospital setting with professional medical interpreters Training on code of ethics and complex medical Spanish Flexible schedule, pick your own shifts

      Cons

      Poor communication from supervisor They have high expectations for interns (driving more than an hour to visit other hospitals, being available at all hours of the day) with no pay The company benefits from you while you receive only training- no opportunities to practice real interpreting. Only 25% of the hours you sign up for are permitted to be shadowing, the rest is busywork.
