Pros
The managers I worked with were great. Pay and benefits were good. My bosses allowed me to assist them with things outside my job description. It helped to make a better work day.
Cons
Being a government contractor, though, nobody knew what they were doing. We all completed any work given to us. We were there every day all day long without much to do. I don't think anyone (including managers) knew what the government wanted nor how to accomplish it. It made for very long days. We were furloughed at a point and many of us were then laid off. Most of us were crammed into cubicle-style offices with another one or more people. Some of us worked in the local DOE building sometimes and certain DOE office employees didn't make for good employees. Most of us learned very quickly to stay away from them.
