Pros
Remote work and nice clients.
Cons
Please run away if you are thinking of working here. It has taken me almost a year to write this review. I’m hoping that by writing it, I can save someone from the pain and agony I have gone through.
After much hesitation, I agreed to work here because of it being a remote opportunity and I really enjoyed the co-worker that I interviewed with. I knew I made a mistake when I asked the owner what my title was and was told that I could call myself whatever I wanted, because “titles are dumb.” I received little training and immediately realized the owner’s abusive and incompetent tendencies. The owner lied to employees and clients and habitually turned employees against each other. He loves to hear himself talk and talks down to employees and clients on a daily basis. He refers to women as “girls.”
While he says he wants to grow his business, he is so stuck in his own archaic ways that it cripples any true growth for the business. Employees suggestions are tossed aside, ignored or mocked.
He treated all employees as subpar and never like adults. I was micromanaged in every aspect of my job and could never do anything correctly-nor could any other employee.
When I worked there, they used a decade old CRM that I was never properly trained on and then would be spoken down to when I was confused on using it.
I worked with a team in Mexico that was incompetent and always behind but never held to standards because the team there is led by family.
I was told repeatedly by the owner that he was taking money away from his family to pay my salary. He would complain about paying salaries and manipulated the commission structure when it benefited him. He would also love to brag about how expensive his homes and cars are.
He takes an annual trip to hunt for a month and then comes back angry when things are not done the way he would have done it. He has a hand in every single area of the company but never follows through with any updates on processes or any career advancement for employees.
I received 1 review in the year and a half that I worked there-when I received a raise. I was let go from the company because the company was losing money and numerous clients. I was told by the owner that he would not fight my unemployment the day he laid me off. Two weeks later, I got notice that he was fighting it.
I have worked for two different small business owners since working for this company and it really made me realize how abusive and demeaning this man is to his employees. It should be illegal for a man of his character to run a business.
