Pros

I've been with the company for seven years now, and it's genuinely the longest I've ever stayed anywhere — a testament to the culture and environment here. What sets this place apart is the openness: there's no judgment based on personality, appearance, or even the ideas you bring to the table. I started my journey in the call centre and, with the support of my managers and the knowledge I've gained along the way, I've progressed to the role of Senior IT Project Manager. The experience has shown me that anything I set my mind to is not only possible — it's achievable and scalable.

Cons

Managers have played a key role in my development, and the environment encourages you to believe that anything is possible. That said, internal communication can sometimes be inconsistent, and workload peaks — Still, these opportunities for growth and extensive knowledge and the people make it a place worth staying.

Pros

- Opportunity to work on meaningful products, particularly in assisted living and healthcare. - Exposure to a modern tech stack including Python, FastAPI, and data processing with Pandas. - Hands-on ownership of real production systems and features from early on. - Some genuinely capable and supportive engineers/managers across teams.

Cons

- Compensation is not aligned with the level of responsibility and impact expected, and can feel significantly below market for the work being delivered. - Recognition is inconsistent and often driven more by visibility, or internal politics, rather than actual technical contribution. - Some managers are highly impersonal and disengaged, showing little interest in proper line management, support, or team development. - Engineering leadership is inconsistent at best; in some cases, individuals in leadership roles lack even basic technical understanding, which undermines decision-making and credibility. - Junior and mid-level engineers are frequently overworked and relied upon to carry delivery, without proportional recognition, support, or reward. - Compensation adjustments for major contributions can be minimal, making it difficult to feel valued or incentivised to go above and beyond. - Bonus structures tied to OKRs/KPIs are often unrealistic, making them feel unattainable rather than motivating. - Career progression historically lacked clarity, with defined bands only introduced recently after prolonged ambiguity.

Pros

- Opportunities to take on new responsibilities if you’re willing to step up. Over the years I’ve been given chances to move from development into DevOps leadership and later into an Engineering Lead position. - Supportive line management, especially when it comes to discussing development needs, training, or considering alternative career paths when a role isn’t the right fit. - Access to structured learning, such as the Level 7 Leadership Apprenticeship, which has been valuable. - Interesting technical challenges across cloud, DevOps, and software engineering, there’s rarely a dull moment if you like varied work.

Cons

- Some roles can be extremely demanding and not always well-aligned to individual strengths. My recent experience as an Engineering Lead has been particularly challenging, but it has highlighted internal support and coaching. - High expectations and change can be difficult to manage, especially during reorganisations or strategic shifts. Those who prefer stability may struggle. - Workload can escalate depending on team pressures, organisational needs, and shifting priorities.
