Pros

If you are willing to work hard you have an opportunity. Schedules changes depending of the year season which is good for some employees.

Cons

There is a lot bad going on in Progressive Gourmet. Employees are leaving because they don't feel the company will be open three years from now. They have a serious financial problems. Sometimes I have to buy my own office materials because they don't have supplies for the employees and they make you 30 questions just to get you pens or basic supplies. Production employees are underpaid and overworked. Employees receive raises of .10 cents an hour after being with the company for long years. There is no room for professional growth and management only think of themselves. The owner of the company does not have any people skills or think about his workforce at all.

Pros

Competitive pay, bonus structure, car allowance, phone, great products. Very comprehensive training, not just in sales, but with every department. Approachable upper management.

Cons

Multiple conference calls every week that accomplish nothing, and take hours out of your day that could be used more constructively. The CEO reads too many self-help books, and makes everyone else read them too as part of your job requirements. He buys into any new sales management fad. When we have company meetings, they serve the company food that everyone is already sick of. How many puff pastries can a person eat? There is no coverage for outer markets, so if you take any time off, you still have to answer/return phone calls/emails from vacation.
