Overall, I have had a fantastic experience with this company. It has provided me great flexibility, and I enjoy reading and learning about research from around the world. The training period involved proofreading documents, sending them to company, and then receiving an evaluation from a senior proofreading. This process was quite short for me, but the length will depend on the quality of your proofreading. As a senior proofreader, I try to provide as much feedback as possible so that new proofreaders can improve each time they proofread a document. I have found communication with the company to be easy and straightforward. I usually receive a reply to an email quite quickly, and payment for services is delivered consistently on a weekly basis. You never have to feel uncomfortable asking a question—the staff are very nice and will work hard to ensure all your questions are answered. A great aspect about this company is the ability to set how much work you would like to receive each week. I have been able to increase my workload through my time with the company, and I have always received a steady stream of work. Overall, the deadlines for the jobs are generous. During the training period, the deadline will be tight because the document must be assessed by a senior proofreader before it can be returned to the customer. After training, you will usually receive a few days or more to proofread the document, and you can also request for a longer period if you require it. They are quite clear when the deadline you are provided is the absolute latest a document can be returned, and if you cannot fit that in your schedule, you can let them know before accepting the job. Be aware that the quality of the documents will vary, and you are paid by words and not by time. Hence, two documents that are the same length may take markedly different times to proofread, but I have found that the overall pay rate balances out. When you complete your job, you upload it to a website. You receive confirmation emails once documents are successfully uploaded to the website and then downloaded by the company. In the past, there was an issue with the company not receiving some emails. However, this issue has been resolved, including the ability to upload the documents once you have completed them. My advice to people who would like to apply is to make sure you are comfortable proofreading documents and read all the information the company provides. In addition, references are a crucial part of academic writing, and it is crucial that you are familiar and comfortable with formatting references. A large portion of the evaluation score comes from checking references, so even if you provide flawless copy, you might not advance in the process if the references are not consistently formatted.
Cons
As with any stricly remote job, you do not have the ability to physically interact with other people. You have to be comfortable communicating through email.
