Pros

Public strives to be a great workplace. I do think they mean well.

Cons

Management is young and inexperienced with leading teams. They benefit by hiring incredibly ambitious, young, smart people who don't really question what is happening, and instead are focused on doing great work at high speed. Business ethics are not always considered within the desire to create new ventures, but yet they market themselves to users as a very transparent place to place their money. The upside to working here is that you get a good chunk of equity. However, the retail investor game is a tough marketplace. This company will be lucky to get bought by an incumbent financial institution after the severe volatility of crypto and tech stocks hit the real users who don't have the money to be trading. Pay attention to the short tenure of anyone over 30 who wasn't on the very early stage team before joining.

Pros

A company that truly cares about their people. Even when they have layoff cycles, they provide severance. They offer unlimited PTO, occasional team lunches and social events, and many other positives.

Cons

This was one of my most favorite roles I have ever held and I have nothing bad to say.
