Pros

HR at Purdicom periodically wander around the office asking people to post a review on Greendoor. I posted a less than raving review and quoted a previously posted less than raving review. Both were subsequently removed. THAT is why you see only see mostly positive reviews here. The data is skewed to paint the picture the company wants you to see, not the true picture. The previous post that I quoted said that the MD was positioning to sell the company. HR responded saying he was not. The MD is positioning to sell the company. This is a direct quote overheard from the MD in a quiet conversation about selling the company: "I'd be happy with a couple of mil" If you're looking for a good, morally just, company, you're looking in the wrong place. Remember Covid-19 lockdown 1? Purdicom furloughed as many staff as possible so that they didn't have to pay salary. If a salary was higher than the furlough limit, tough luck. Purdicom wouldn't top it up and you got a pay cut. As soon as the Government said they weren't going to continue paying out for Furlough, Purdicom layed off about 20% of their staff. The money saved from not paying salaries paid for redundancies and had change left over. Purdicom made a profit from Covid at the expense of staff and all taxpayers. I'd happily rave about Purdicom as a potential employer to anyone I dislike. I'd also recommend it as a short term stepping stone to a better position.

Pros

A genuine brilliant tech team..

Cons

My experience at this company was very challenging, largely due to the culture on the sales floor and aspects of the business operations. During my time there, I experienced behaviour that I perceived as bullying, including repeated comments and nicknames relating to my weight. This created a working environment that I found uncomfortable and distressing. I also observed behaviour that I considered unprofessional, including negative discussions about women and a lack of mutual respect in parts of the team. From my perspective, these issues were not addressed in a way that resolved my concerns, which contributed to a culture where such behaviour continued. Communication from leadership often felt focused on general morale rather than addressing issues in a manner I found constructive. From a commercial perspective, I personally felt that certain elements of the business model presented challenges in the market at the time. Some approaches to distribution and deal structures did not appear to be evolving, which, in my view, could impact long-term sustainability. There were positive aspects. The company provided basic facilities such as a canteen, and I worked alongside a small number of supportive and professional colleagues. Overall, based on my experience, I found the environment to be pressurised and, at times, lacking in professionalism and respect. I would not recommend this workplace to those seeking a supportive and inclusive culture.
