Pros

There are NO pros for this job since its a door to door marketing campaign promoting Green Energy for Direct Energy and the Nest Thermostat.

Cons

I found this job listing on craigslist, the listing says that Pure Inc is a call center where you get paid between $12-$15 the hour. Monday-friday 1pm-9pm. Well thats where the fun begins. I called to set up my interview, and on the day of the interview the recruiter told me that the job is salary based that I was gonna make $600 a week guaranteed. So I asked if the job is a door to door marketing scheme and she said no. So I got hired on the spot and went for the first day of training the following monday. During training one of the managers told us that we represent a marketing company for Direct Energy and that the job is completly commission based. We would get $100 for every customer that switches energy provider. And $300 if we sell them Vivint Home Security. Everyday they get a list of about 60-100 homes that we have to stop by to try and sell them Direct Energy. So I decided to try it for a day. We got in a van with a group of 10 and got dropped off at Cinco Ranch. Now the biggest problem is that Pure Inc is only allowed to sell in Harris County and Montgomery County. We were in Fort Bend and Katy were we are'nt allowed to go door to door and as a result the associates kept getting kicked out of peoples homes and the cops would constantly tell us to leave. There were alot of no solicitng signs placed around these huge gated communities and yet they would go in and drop assoicates off to sell them energy. I would honestly say that only 2 out of 10 people are actually intrested in switching provider. The other 8 would slam the door on your face, threaten you to shoot you for walking into private property or call the cops on you. We left the office at about 1pm and came back at around 10:30 theres no lunch time and they dont stop to eat or to get water since they are on a timed schedule to go through all these homes to sell. At the end of the day most of the new people looked exhausted because of the heat. And I also noticed that alot of people that were hired with me quit on the second day or stopped showing up once they found out its a door to door selling technique. Out of the 25 people that got hired only 15 showed up for training and then only 10 remained. Thats why they're always hiring.
