Harrowing exercise in futility - Distribution Services Representative Pyramid Breweries Employee Review

Pros

The only pros were free parking near downtown Seattle, shorts and sandals dress code, and free beer on holidays.

Cons

1. Management didnt know what they were doing. 2. They put a salesman in charge of their marketing strategy. 3. They didnt care how much their cost-of-goods were, their only goal was to cook the books so their distribution looked good at the top-line. Bottom-line costs only mattered when it was too late. 4. No infrastructure building, no investment whatsoever in their people, information systems, internal processes, or incentive systems. 5. Communications are hostile in-between and within departments. There is no cultural awareness on the part of management. It is instead replaced by a single-minded, fear of upheaval that erodes all sense of camaraderie among the staff. They've since been forced into sale to North American Brewing out of Rochester, New York. For the few that remained (luckily most of the c-level staff were purged in the sale) I pray they're creating something again, something worth owning.

Pros

Great Co-workers, amazing perks such as free beer and discounted meals in the restaurant

Cons

They acquired other companies and expected employees to take on a much greater workload to absorb the new companies without hiring additional employees or increasing salaries.
