Interns are often treated as subordinates rather than being integrated as part of the professional team. They are treated more like school students, with monitored prayers, scheduled break times, and no flexibility in choosing preferred lunch hours. The workplace lacks consistent ground rules, with policies frequently changing without proper communication. Interns are often blamed for issues outside their control and receive little to no support from senior management when conflicts arise. A concerning aspect is the behavior of some staff, including senior staff, who have been observed badmouthing interns, spreading misinformation about current and former interns, and creating a toxic environment. Additionally, management displays unprofessional behavior, such as being preoccupied with personal phone calls during work hours, even when employees need assistance. While attendance is strictly monitored for interns and other staff, the department itself fails to update attendance records reliably.
