      worst company - Systems Administrator Quicktech Employee Review

      Pros

      does not find much one flex day -that does not help at all

      Cons

      worst place to work with, no management experienced staff, feels like slaves that will require to work continues Interview process is lengthy that took more than a month and after several phone call stressful work burden, micromanagement, rude seniors

      Hi I thank you for your review, and as of January 9th we had not had a staff member employed for less than a year as a Systems Administrator, we have had Support Technicians that have left us in that time though. Even still, I want to address this review. Our interview process can be lengthy and does include a lab you need to complete to move on to the next stage. Our service manager has over 15 years of IT industry experience and feel we have very little micromanagement. This could be considered a negative as this sometimes places the burden on the staff member to manage themselves which can be hard for some. We feel we are addressing this with a recent project manager role filled internally. I am sorry you had a negative employment experience with us and would love to have you reach out to me directly so I can find out what we can do better in more detail Thanks for the review, Dustin

      Pros

      - Free lunch on Thursdays or if it is someone's birthday - Great culture, no difficult coworkers, everyone is normal - One flex day a week - They pay for overtime - Wage is reasonable, not high, not low - Management is down to earth - A nice looking office that is close to sky train - Company computer provided that you can take home

      Cons

      - Lots of legacy residential clients that are a pain - Lots of basically residential clients, one and two people businesses - Support model is such that is technician is like a micro VCO for a team of clients, which leads to inconsistent best practices and procedures - They don't pay for transit to work but do cover cost to clients - No RRSPs

      Hi Thank you for your review. Over the last year and a half we have been able to offer our residential clients soft-landings with other IT service providers and have dedicated our efforts to our small and medium business clients. Your idea of a tier system for the clients is great, we use a very similar system when reviewing our annual agreements with our clients just with letters not colors. Our documentation and processes are a work in progress as well as our benefits partner programs, thank you for your input.       Pros

      A great team of individuals who care about each other and what they do A wide variety of work An amazing place to learn on the job Ample opportunities to take on new and more challenging roles Flexibility - they went above and beyond to be unbelievably supportive when I had some health issues Mentorship - I mean more than just strictly employment-related; serious life stuff that has shaped who I am today

      Can be very fast paced and stressful at times Fairly high workload Access to enterprise level technology can be limited Compensation was average
