Pros
The people who work here are simply good people who treat others respectfully. Coworkers often become close to each other and management, and it is clear that management cares about their employees' well-being. Management is very accessible to employees, will always take time out of their day to talk if asked, and will treat issues seriously. There are great opportunities for entry-level candidates to learn about clinical research and to have some upward mobility. You will start small with regards to the things you learn and the tasks you'll do, but If you are interested in pursuing a career in any capacity of clinical research, you will learn a lot from this position, and it will be extremely helpful to put you in a good place to take on complex projects in the future. The pay is fair - not great, but not low. It's what you would expect for an entry-level position in a scientific field - it's at market price. The work-life balance is excellent; you're rarely asked to work more than 40 hrs or on weekends, and when you do you're given overtime pay. Being a small company, your contribution to the work will be noticed (which is great for you if you put in the effort, and not so good if you don't). Bad attitudes, lack of effort, and poor quality work will not go unnoticed. There is some room for upward growth, but it will not be handed out just based on time. Employees must demonstrate merit and show a desire to move upwards to be considered. Some people seem to think they should be handed promotions, raises, and extra perks (and it has led to a couple disgruntled employees - as you can see in some other reviews) but management works hard and expects their employees to work hard to earn these things as well.
Cons
work can get a little repetitive
Pros
I worked at RCTS for two years and I can honestly say that I enjoyed my experience and this opportunity led me to acquire my dream job in research. Management was very understanding and willing to work with me while I was taking some classes. The work environment is pretty laid back and the job itself is not stressful or overwhelming. The owner is the best! He is always super encouraging, friendly, and always willing to listen to his employees. He makes sure his employees are happy and really seems to want the best for everyone, which is rare to find in some work settings. Also, they were in the process of changing a few things, like salary and creating new positions, durimg my last month so i would disregard the negative reviews being left on here by previous employees.
Cons
Some might say the pay is a con, but for an entry level position, I think it’s reasonable. There were some issues that were a bit frustrating when it came to other employees, like some people not getting up as often to attend the participants but at any job you'll have similar issues. Overall, its a great job that will give you many opportunities career wise.
