Pros

There are some interesting programs. Arizona winters are great, but summers are awful unless the monsoons come. Hybrid work for most engineering positions. 9/80 schedule is nice.

Cons

I would be skeptical about any positive reviews about RTX; anyone I associate with at work agrees with the following Cons. The flood gates are open and people are resigning in troves! The stress and excessive work hours are not worth it AT ALL. Typical raises are only 3-5%. Your bonus is 3-5% (LOL). Benefits got a lot worse with the UTC merger. Covid "jab" mandate and discrimination against unjabbed employees remains. Horrible section managers. Little opportunity for growth. Management will tell you during your interview that they support you moving up and around the company, this is not true at all unless you've work here for 15 years. Terrible attrition rate and retention. The handling of Covid, poor raises, woke culture, and stoppage of pensions for senior staff has created an extremely high attrition rate (30-40% as of August 2022). Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to stagnate your career or take a job here and leave after 3-4 years; it does look good on your resume but that's about it. Tucson is an extremely dirty and poor city. Lots of regret coming here aside from the massive raise I got leaving for a new company!

Pros

I worked at Raytheon for over 4 years and had a great experience. The company provided many learning and growth opportunities. I was promoted twice during my tenure with the company, and my responsibility increased significantly. I felt like my management supported me and provided me with the career mentorship that I was seeking. I felt empowered and respected during my time there.

Cons

It can be difficult to work at such a large defense contractor company because of all the process and red tape. Things can move slowly, you have to be patient and pick your battles. That being said, if you learn how to work within the system, you can make a significant impact here!
