Pros

Stunning facilities and well-kept courts Friendly atmosphere among fellow coaches Canteen food was excellent Good Easter tennis program. Fit for purpose

Cons

PAY Bad pay: €10/hour gross Extra costs not disclosed until after I arrived Pay advertised as gross, not net TRAINING Online training was lengthy but mostly useless – 8 long modules with little practical value Overwhelming communication: more than 50 emails received with 6 different online accounts for a 2-week job I had problems signing my contract which were not resolved until after I finished working at the academy ACCOMMODATION Arrived at 1am to no room key – was told to sleep on a couch in reception until I insisted on a room in the academy (where I had to change the bedsheets myself) Dirty, overcrowded accommodation – 4 to a room. 12 boys in the flat. No duvet provided until late into 2nd week. No cold water in the morning if you’re not first to shower. Water pipe then broke mid way into my 2nd week and so were unable to use our own toilet and shower for 5 days. No uniform provided on my first day – had to borrow clothes from other coaches. Many items were missing from the pack I received. MANAGEMENT Lead coach Marc was extremely unfriendly, constantly stressed and on edge and created an unnecessarily tense and negative atmosphere. Never gave feedback and treated staff with little respect. EXTRA HOURS Regular unpaid meetings before and after coaching sessions No proper day off – online admin tasks like reports and serve analysis meant 3+ hours of unpaid work even on “rest” days

Pros

The company have invested money into the new school buildings.

Cons

This school has potential but staggeringly poor management wherein cronyism is rife means that education and the well-being of staff and students alike is practically non-existent and money is the sole focus. The salary is very low. It is very clear to see that the academy does not value nor care for their teachers. Education standards are very low in general and often unethical practises were carried out to concel this fact. Many members of the SLT were not fully qualified. If you professionally disagree with the SLT you will be personally targeted. Favoritism is commonplace. Inappropriate behaviour has also been covered up. In general this is not a happy place to work.
