Pros

- Working remotely offers the flexibility to work from almost any location - You are granted a significant degree of autonomy in carrying out your responsibilities

Cons

- High employee turnover, with constant instances of layoffs or terminations - This leads to job insecurity, leaving you uncertain about your prospects for continued employment in the forthcoming weeks or months - Despite the constantly increasing responsibilities, the salary remains stagnant and below market standards - Restricted opportunities for professional development and growth - Inadequate mentorship. Managers often lack experience in people management, resulting in team members feeling disengaged, aimless, inadequately assisted, and lacking in enthusiasm - Certain employees receive preferential treatment from managers - Negative behaviour and hostility among employees are not being addressed - No transparency and communication between teams, managers, and employees - Insufficient feedback and recognition, despite going above and beyond in your position

Pros

The "doers" I worked with were some of the best, most driven people I've ever been able to call colleagues. There are very competent folks at that level who genuinely care about doing a good job. I was compensated fairly for my work, and I felt as though my contributions were appreciated.

Cons

Internal communications were some of the worst I've seen at any company I've ever worked for. Layoffs in October of 2024 could not have possibly been handled worse than they were by upper management, and that set in motion a chain of events that negatively affected a LOT of very good people. The company's priorities have shifted very far in the wrong direction, and the "doers" I've mentioned who are left are nowhere near as supported as they need to be to do their jobs as effectively as possible.
