Pros

The people are so nice & friendly - everyone was very welcoming when joining. Good benefits (BUPA), discounts, 7% pension match. Good company culture, fun office events and Early Careers events/network. £1000 welcome bonus. Very diverse new hires. Big grad/apprentice intakes each year which is fun - met some great coworkers who I’d just call friends now. Office is great and visiting other big offices they all seem really nice. My office building offers many free activities including Pilates, yoga, sound baths etc.

Cons

Wish salary was higher, but I guess that applies for all engineering jobs in the UK. Depending on what team you join, you can be extremely busy or have nothing to do. The team I joined is understaffed so I’m constantly busy which is a lot of pressure for my first grad job. However, my other coworkers in the same grad cohort had manageable to no work for the first few months. So depends on what team you join.

Pros

A wide variety of projects and some level of autonomy when it comes to types of projects you want to work for

Cons

No consideration for employee's talent, feedbacks often just focused on negatives so they can fire you the minute you don't show "yes boss" attitude. They are not doing well revenue wise and newly hired ones are let go first, citing "performance was not good". When you first join, they tell you not to worry about billable hours for the first 3-6 months, especially when the overall consulting work load was low across the board. But then they fire you for the same reason. Some managers are very kind and supportive when they give you feedback, but if you are unlucky, your reporting manager will use that feedback against you and fire you and not say anything positive. Low compensation.
