Pros

Friendly and supportive culture between colleagues. Hybrid working and fairly flexible. Diversity and inclusion is improving. Reasonably generous schemes for employees to purchase equity.

Cons

Remuneration - no clear structure or transparency, large inconsistencies between staff in the same roles, and generally way under market expectancy for most positions below director level. Those at the top are increasingly rewarded at the expense of those lower down, an antiquated approach to business. Recent merger has been managed very badly, staff on both sides are unhappy. Consistently increasing workload and expectation with no additional reward or recognition. Business is very much centred around London with regional offices often treated as an afterthought. General attitude of senior leadership towards the workforce is extremely poor, rewarding shareholders (and themselves) is their main priority. Very limited accountability from senior leadership for repeatedly poor strategic decision making, there seems to be a culture of deflecting blame and expecting others to bail out or cover up frequent missteps (although would exclude outgoing CEO Paul Stockton from that assessment).

Pros

Benefits - pension, shares, top notch for training opportunities and getting on in the company - they do listen to and included all levels of staff

Cons

Problems with technology, computer has problems in that it’s slow and antiquated systems struggle to keep up. Centrally controlled computer and sometimes difficult to get answers for IT
