Pros

I've been a Lead Rescuer (one event per week), Core Rescuer (10 events per week), Intern and part-time person here. Started volunteering over two years ago and started working there about a year ago. Great place and good cause where you really can make an impact. The staff is great and put a lot into their work. I've also learned a lot here and there's a lot of flexibility for you to pursue new things at work.

Cons

Rescuing food can be difficult - you have to be able to work in various types of weather! It's usually close enough to walk but look at the event you sign up for to decide if you can walk that far and see whether you need a cart (depending on the average weight of food rescued at that event).

Pros

Having weekly collaborative meetings with my manager was what I looked forward to, and the overall culture of RLC was very friendly and casual (yet professional at the same time), 10/10 would recommend my friends who are looking for digital marketing experience to add to their resume.

Cons

Having to juggle responsibilities outside of the internship had its challenges at times, but fortunately, the staff was very accommodating and understanding of my situation and I consider my manager a great person who listened to my concerns and new ideas and actually made the internship experience valuable for me.

Pros

The people are all very talented and dedicated. You have some creative freedom when it comes to campaigns and outreach

Cons

There is not much guidance besides from the team leader, who wears quite a lot of hats. Be prepared to fly solo and take initiative
