Pros

At Riptide associates are encouraged to bring their ideas to the table and those ideas are valued and encouraged. Along with ideas, associates are challenged to make the work environment a place where folks want to come and hang out...from the cool in-house game room to the never ending company sponsored events covering everything from charitable endeavors to just plain zany company events like our annual Chili Cook-off or Holiday Spirit wine tasting. One of the things I love most about working at Riptide is the fact that management doesn’t see age when it comes to running the business as we have a tremendous group of young software engineers along with a seasoned team of associates like myself that bring experience to the project we take on for our customers – it’s just a great mix and keeps things lively! Finally, as a retired military officer with over 30 years of military service I am truly amazed at the level of dedication exhibited by the team of engineers and support staff here at Riptide in building technically advance training systems that make a difference in Soldiers and Marines military training.

Cons

Since Riptide is a small company it suffers from some of the normal challenges small businesses go through like bargaining for better benefits or fighting for new contracts amongst much bigger companies especially in the Department of Defense space. However, all-in-all the benefits of working at Riptide far out way the challenges.

Pros

Easygoing, work isn’t too difficult, pay was great, excellent benefits

Cons

There was a massive gap in communication during my time there. Many times I would get lock out of the office after being away on work trips. My manager would rarely assist in time and blame me. They also pushed out everyone I knew after I left so maybe there was a restructuring.
