Pros
Salaries are typically good, and benefits have been known to be some of the best in the past. The workplace is not a "cubicle-land." The right person with the right skills can grow quickly within the organization. Perks such as monthly luncheons, quarterly company-wide meetings and parties (these are sometimes considered by staff to be "cons" due to the expenses and time taken away from their workloads).
Cons
Management decisions are often made in the heat of the moment or when someone is angry, even when not justified. CEO's friends and family are hired into higher-salary positions and not always the best qualified for the job. There is no uniform procedure for disciplinary actions. One employee may go years with known issues while another may be fired for one. Communication between senior management and staff is very poor. After-hour events are described as "not mandatory but attendance is recommended." If you are easily offended by profanity or alcohol in the workplace, this is not the place for you. Not a good company for work-life balance.
