Pros

- Hard working, talented, intelligent co-workers - Culture of support and generosity - Diverse opportunities to acquire new skills and proficiencies This past year has been difficult in many ways. However, when the economy began to struggle, our CEO/Owner, as well as our management team, made a commitment to retaining our staff, and avoiding layoffs. They recognized that they had a talented, diligent group of software developers and QA Analysts, and that we were worth investing in. As the industry heaved, struggled, and evolved, they adapted and found new strategies to acquire projects. When you see that kind of dedication in your leadership, it inspires you come together and give all you have, for each other as much as for yourself. I truly believe that we are finding a way to come out the other side of these trying times in better shape, and stronger than when we entered. If you wish to work in a challenging, exciting environment, where you are asked a great deal, but with support, confidence, and empowerment, look no further.

Cons

Software consulting can be wild ride at times. You might work several contracts within the span of a year, requiring you to produce robust, professional solutions in a multitude of tech-stacks. For me, this has been a pro, not a con, but I realize that it may not be for everyone. I see it as an opportunity to be more than just an implementer. It's an opportunity to become a true engineer, and an architect.
