Pros
Local project work reduces travel and improves work-life balance. Steady pipeline of upcoming work provides job security. Opportunities to gain hands-on experience on active construction sites.
Cons
The work environment is not inclusive or supportive, particularly for women and LGBTQ+ employees. I experienced bullying and discrimination, including in front of upper management, with no action taken. Female uniforms were refused despite repeated requests. Safety concerns were often dismissed, and raising them led to being labelled as “difficult” despite years of industry experience. Communication and support from leadership was largely absent.
