The leadership is doing a terrible job at communicating. They decided to fire half the engineering staff overnight for which they made a poorly organised last minute meeting with everyone. No prior notice, no time to negotiate or defend the project you were working on and how it could affect the company from your perspective. They saw cold hard numbers and laid off employees just based on those.
There is too much management for very few engineers. Almost one manager per two engineers.
Management seems to have their hands tied as orders mostly come from "above". For example, the CEO seems to be unable to make his own decisions due to the founders and the board micromanaging most things.
Decisions on product and marketing are taken arbitrarily and most times people only learn about them if they are called to work on a relevant task.
Culture seems very superficial. People talk about company culture but there was barely any event that had employees hooked. On Fridays everyone is looking for the door.
No real benefits for working from the office. No breakfast or sponsored team lunches. No fun activities (except for some who play ping-pong). The office itself is nothing special.
