Pros

Work life balance, still a hybrid model, working with small teams for greater impact

Cons

SLT is severely outdated, upper management does not listen to employee feedback. Lack of direction and communication from managers on what their expectations are. Unclear guidelines and impossible deadlines due to lack of planning ahead. Also no discussion of vertical growth, youre stuck where you started and it can take 6+ years for a promotion if they dont lay u off before then.

Pros

There are genuinely talented, hardworking people at Scene who care about doing good work and want the company to succeed. Unfortunately, many of those employees end up carrying a disproportionate share of the workload while less effective people coast by. In my experience, the people who consistently deliver strong results are often rewarded with even more responsibility instead of meaningful recognition or career growth. It's not surprising that many of the strongest employees eventually leave for better opportunities.

Cons

My experience at Scene was overwhelmingly negative. There was a constant disconnect between leadership's messaging and what employees actually experienced day to day. "Transparency" and "collaboration" were frequently talked about, but major decisions often came without meaningful communication or employee input. Priorities changed constantly, making it difficult to complete projects before they were replaced by the next "urgent" initiative. Instead of solving underlying organizational issues, the company often seemed to react to problems without addressing the root causes. This created unnecessary stress and a lot of wasted effort. Career development felt inconsistent. Advancement appeared unpredictable, feedback wasn't always actionable, and recognition often came in the form of additional responsibilities rather than meaningful opportunities for growth. Morale was noticeably low during my time there, and it wasn't difficult to understand why. There were many capable employees who wanted to make a positive impact, but the environment often made that far more difficult than it needed to be.

Pros

- Location is prime with easy access to transit.

Cons

-Burnout culture is thriving at Scene+. Management actively celebrates overworking. Working evenings and weekends isn't just common; it’s an unstated requirement. Burnout is treated as a milestone & true dedication rather than a red flag. - There is a total lack of department-wide cohesion. Teams are frequently pitted against one another, and clear "favouritism" is displayed during town halls, when giving recognition on campaign launches, within funnelling promotions and overall resources; while the rest of teams are left to struggle with crushing workloads. - Consistent unrealistic expectations & chaos rule directions. Alignment is non-existent. Direction changes at the last minute based on partner demands, yet employees are expected to deliver results "with a snap of the fingers." This is coupled with heavy micromanagement from VPs who clearly do not trust their teams to execute. - While they like to say member focus is a key pillar, the company’s primary objective is the happiness and profits of the partners, often at the direct expense of employee well-being. - The turnover is so high that three years of tenure makes you a "veteran." This speaks volumes about the long-term viability of a career here.
