Pros

The technical capabilities of some of the engineering team are world class. Some of the engineering team are helpful.

Cons

The management is poor, deeply ingrained, and very old school. They are reluctant to change and sometimes outright dogged in their approach to not moving with the times. Training is limited, sporadic, or non existent. There are racist undertones in many of the management team, with ethnic hires often ostracised or just not employed in the first place. There are factions rather than departments, without a cohesive, collaborative approach to problem solving and instead a throw it to someone else to sort out mentality. The company structure makes it difficult to progress. Salaries are relatively low compared to the market. Many of the products languish without proper resource to improve. Labtech has been sold a few times with a short space of time.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, even though it wasn’t necessarily the easiest of reads! I am of course deeply concerned about some of the issues you have raised, not least because I don’t necessarily recognise the company I know and love working for in your comments. Were you able to discuss any of this in your exit interview with HR? I am really keen to understand your comments in more detail, would you be happy to have a confidential discussion with either myself or another member of the HR team? If so, please send us an email at hr@sptlabtech.com so that we can arrange it. Thanks again for telling us about your experience and I look forward to hopefully discussing it further.

Pros

The job itself in was fairly easy and it was a great work life balance. People are great. Left unsupervised a lot.

Cons

No structure. No accountability. Constant hail Mary’s that never get fixed. Management constantly undermines best players and never holds people accountable for behavior. No clear answers for valid questions.
