Pros
-There are some smart and useful people around but you won't always work with them. -Company events quite frequent so not always working -Much less work volume to do but that can backfire if you have a bad boss who has nothing better to do, less volume also means you won't learn much. Perfect to slack and act like you doing something with your life. -Get bonus, salary, then go home -Family care leave, etc. -Iron rice bowl, can dig nose do nothing whole year undetected
Cons
-Get into the wrong department under the wrong boss and it becomes a sitcom watching these retirees, with one foot out the door, bring their own theatric plays to the work environment. Because their lives are that miserable, boring, and pathetic, they have to create drama. -A lot of aged close-to-retiring colleagues, out of touch and just using this place as a retirement home, living in the past. They just happened to be in the job before you do, which means its bad if you report to them. -Some departments genuinely have bad leaders makes you wonder how they get there in the first place and is there nobody else they could have gotten? -More talk than action. -Talking is arguably the only skill you need. You can pretty much be bad at everything else just don't show and announce it openly. -Lazy culture, promote OT because of incompetence to complete your own work on time. Not anybody's fault you are retiring and slow, don't drag people down with you, no thanks. If you can't finish your work on time and have to go the extra hours, that shows your lack of planning and general skills. -Everywhere has terrible people, here is no exception, except they are all Singaporeans which means even more entitled and even more insufferable if they are terrible.
